Torrance Senator Ted Lieu may have come in second in the primary race but he’s feeling on top of the world this week as Congressman Henry Waxman gave his official endorsement to Lieu just hours after the polls closed on election night.
Prosecutor Elan Carr came in first with 22% of the votes in the primary race and Lieu following behind with 19 percent. The two will face off on the November 4th ballot. Former LA Controller Wendy Greuel also a Democrat who came in third place, narrowly missing a spot in the general election. Waxman’s 33rd district is strongly Democratic and his announcement to retire after 40 years in Congress drew the largest field of any race in California on June 3rd. 18 candidates were on the ballot.
