The West Municipal Water District in increasing its turf replacement rebate from $2 to $3 per square foot. The increase is only for a limited time, and is available on a first come, first served basis.
This increase is made possible by a $30,000 United States Bureau Reclamation grant. It is equivalent to removing 10 acres of lawns, which will save approximately 20 million gallons of water each year.
The West Basin serves 17 cities primarily throughout the South Bay, including Torrance.
