Driving an electric car to the Honda campus in Torrance will be getting easier.

Honda plans to add 120 new electric vehicle charging stations on its property. The EV chargers will be installed in two phases. Phase 1 has already begun.

Honda says the chargers will help encourage hundreds of employees to use an electric vehicle for their daily commute. But it doesn’t stop there: Honda plans to install a “fast charger” on Harpers Way for use by the community.

Honda is also participating in “Drive the Dream 2015”, an event hosted by the California Plug-In Electric Vehicle Collaborative that urges businesses to install workplace charging options.

Honda will release new plug-in vehicles by 2018.
