Some big waves are headed to parts of Southern California thanks to a storm in the Gulf of Alaska.

The National Weather Service says the system could mean local coastal flooding. You can expect high tides well over 6 feet from Los Angeles all the way to San Luis Obispo through Thursday. Long Beach, Venice Beach and Malibu are cities facing higher risk of flooding.

Along with the high tides at the beaches, we will can also expect higher than normal temperatures for this time of year. Today will be the warmest with a high of 81 degrees and an expected low of 66 degrees. Tomorrow it will cool down with temps hitting a high of 79 degrees and a low of 62 degrees. And by Thursday you can expect temperatures to be in the low 80s again with a low of 61 degrees.
