The holiday season is officially under way, with the Torrance Salvation Army encouraging the community to get involved.
As the Red Kettle Campaign is in full swing, volunteers are still needed to keep the sound of ringing bells in the air. The organization says they have 15 locations in Torrance where they ring bells, and they need volunteers to work four-hour windows.
With 19 days of bell ringing left, a spokesman from the Torrance Salvation Army says they are on track to serve more than 40,000 people with the money donated this year. It’s up nearly $3,000 from last year.
They hope to raise a total of $80,000 this season. Officials want to remind people that all the money raised stays within the community.
