A restaurant chain with a Torrance location announces a security breach.

The owner of the popular Elephant Bar restaurants revealed today that there was a breach affecting the payment card information of customers in seven states. Among those locations is the one in Torrance.

On Nov. 3 there was an alert of a potential breach by the chain’s card processor. The investigation shows that someone installed software on their processing systems to capture credit card information. The malware may have compromised payment and card data.

Customers who made payments between Aug. 12 to Dec. 4 could be affected. For the Torrance location, the breach happened between Sept. 11 and Nov. 25.

The company has disabled the malware and says it’s once again safe to use credit cards at all restaurant locations.
