The gloomy weather kept the Torrance Public Works department busy today.
Crews spent the day cleaning out catch basins throughout the City. The basin is part of a storm drain or sewer system that is designed to trap debris so it can’t enter the drainage system.
City officials say they usually clean the basins yearly and after heavy rain events. This will also help prepare for El Nino runoff.
The City says crews are ready to work around the clock to clear out debris to help decrease flooding on the streets.
