The City of Torrance is encouraging the public to get the conversation started about local park improvements.
John Jones, Community Services Director, says the department will be hosting community workshops asking residents about what type of park improvements they would like to see at City parks.
There will be two meetings, one each in the North and South sections of the City. In each meeting, staff will present the park improvements that are currently on the books for parks in each area of Torrance. Once the City has a full list of options from the community, staff will ask residents to vote on their top options to develop a priority of park improvements that would ultimately be shared with the Parks and Recreation Commission and the City Council.
The City says when the funding becomes available, they will use the information collected from residents to make changes at the parks.
The workshops will take place in January. You can find the dates by contacting the Community Services Department at (310) 618-2930.
It’s the first time the City is hosting this type of workshop.
