The Salvation Army will soon be able to offer more activities during its after school programs.
Officials say they have been selected for a digital learning program by Target and EverFi. Thirty-four locations were selected in the Western United States.
The program encourages the use of technology. The Salvation Army in Torrance will receive 12 to 15 new computers for their program. It will help them expand services to be able to cater to more children.
Currently, the organization has 35 children during its after school program, but can have up to 75. It will be an opportunity for kids to grow with the new technology.
Target offers EverFi money through a grant, and EverFi supplies the technology. Everfi is a leading education technology company that helps students with critical skills needed for life.
The Salvation Army in Torrance is located at the corner of Emerald and Earl streets.
