A private product label at Wal-Mart is being removed from stores today.
Sam’s Choice Black Angus Vidalia Onion brand beef patties are being recalled for possible contamination with extraneous wood. The United State Department of Agriculture says the Huisken Meat Company is recalling nearly 90,000 pounds of meat.
The patties were produced on various dates between Nov. 19 and Dec. 9 of last year. The item is a 2 pound box containing six pieces.
Sam’s products are sold exclusively in Wal-Mart stores.
While there have been no confirmed reports of illnesses from the meat, Wal-Mart has told its stores to pull and destroy the product. Also customers are being told they can return the product for a refund.
