A local college president is honored for his 25 years of service.

President Thomas Fallo, along with students and colleagues, enjoyed a celebration at El Camino College. Many South Bay leaders and elected officials were also present to commemorate his contributions to education.

Dr. Fallo became El Camino College’s fifth president when he took office in 1995. As an alumnus of El Camino College, he served as ECC’s Vice President of Administrative Services before becoming president.

Fallo focused on supporting student-centered leadership, while guiding the Torrance-area campus through a period of unprecedented growth and progress. He retires Feb. 1.

Last year, after a wide search for a new president, El Camino College announced Dr. Dena Maloney would take over for Fallo. She will be the first woman president of El Camino College.
