Torrance Transit is taking the next step in a $2 million venture.

The department hosted its first public hearing today in hopes of getting the community’s input on a project that would increase the hours for Line 4, which takes travelers from the South Bay to downtown Los Angeles during peak hours.

There has been a great demand by the community to have the line run all day, and even on weekends.

The line to downtown L.A. would then be called Line 4 X.

The Transit team discussed different options today for the service. They plan to have two more public forums like this before formulating a final service change recommendation, then it will go before the City Council.

The funding comes from a specialized grant.
