And who can say no to free food? Businesses across the nation were cooking up deals today.

The International House of Pancakes is celebrating its 11th annual National Pancake Day today until 7 p.m. IHOP customers were offered a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. It’s IHOP’s way of raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. If customers make a donation, they will receive a $5 dollar coupon for their next visit.

But don’t worry if you missed out on this deal, other restaurants are offering some great deals as well.

While Denny’s doesn’t formally recognize Pancake Day, the chain is offering 20 percent off your tab until March 10. You just have to download the coupon offline.

Peet’s Coffee and Tea also has a coupon offering 50 percent off your next beverage until tomorrow between noon and 5 p.m.

Since starting its Pancake Day fundraiser in 2006, IHOP has raised nearly $20 million to support charities in the communities in which they operate.

Congressman Ted Lieu from Torrance even took part in the fun, tweeting a picture of his pancakes from Great Maple at the Del Amo Fashion Center.
