Flashlights and battery packs are being recalled by a local business in Torrance due to possible fire hazards.
The Pelican Products items are being taken off the shelves. About 3,800 flashlights and nearly 150 replacement battery packs were sold that could possibly cause a fire. Specifically, Pelican 9410L flashlights equipped with lithium-ion battery packs and packs that contain shrink-wrapped cells are included in the recall.
So far, Pelican has received two reports of overheating battery packs. The company says consumers should stop using the items and contact Pelican for instructions on returning the flashlights for free installation of a new battery pack or to exchange replacement battery packs that were sold separately for new ones.
