People across the country commemorated the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, about 58,000 American troops were killed and nearly 153,000 were wounded during the war.

Over the years, March 29th has been recognized as a day of honor for Veterans and the fallen by 23 states and territories. In 2014, President Barack Obama issued a proclamation declaring a 13-year program, from Memorial Day 2012 through Veterans Day 2025 to honor Vietnam Veterans.
