Two Torrance Police officers were recognized this morning for their efforts to combat drunken driving.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving hosted an award ceremony for officers across Los Angeles County at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The non-profit organization hosts this event every year to thank law enforcement for their hard work. Their goal is to stop drunken driving and strive for stricter impaired driving policies.

Torrance officer Steven Kim was given the Centri Award for making 125 arrests last year for driving under the influence. Officer Hector Salas was given the Deuce Award for making 70 arrests.

Law enforcement officers from different divisions and agencies come together for this event.
