Another water line project is going to cause some traffic this weekend.
As part of a new water well being drilled at Delthorne Park in Torrance, a raw water line is being installed on Osage Avenue and Spencer Street from the well to the Goldsworthy Desalter facility at the City Yard.
Work will take place in the intersection of Madrona Avenue and Spencer Street this weekend. The Public Works Department wants drivers to know that traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
Work at the facility also has started and will continue in the coming months.
The Robert W. Goldsworthy Groundwater Desalter Project will increase capacity of the existing facility by 5 million gallons of water per day. The goal of the desalter is to remove salt from a mixture of river and sea water bodies to create fresh water.
