The City Council tonight will declare this week as Blue Ribbon Week, also known as Peace Officers’ Memorial Week. Members of law enforcement agencies are recognized for their bravery and devotion, and those who died in the line of duty will be honored.
Also, across Torrance Unified School District, law enforcement officers are being recognized in special ways and will visit various campuses throughout the week.
Tomorrow morning, the City along with the Torrance Police Department will honor its four officers and a crossing guard who have died in the line of duty, with the most recent dating back to 1986.
