Registration for the summer Youth Dodgeball League in Torrance is now open.
The eight-week program is a co-ed sport opportunity, where teams are separated by grade level, school or geographic location. Youth can sign up based on three divisions. The junior division is made up of second and third graders. The intermediate division consists of fourth and fifth graders. While the senior division consists of sixth, seventh and eighth graders. Non-residents can begin registration June 1.
The dodge ball program began six years ago after schools banned the game from being played on campus. After many requests by the local residents, the City of Torrance’s Community Services Department began a summer youth league.
Walk-in and phone-in registration is available at the Recreation Office, 3031 Torrance Boulevard (located in the west wing of Torrance City Hall). Registration will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed alternating Fridays). The League is tentatively scheduled to begin Saturday, June 25, 2016.
