A new Asian grocery store chain is just weeks away from opening in Torrance.

Located at 4340 Pacific Coast Highway in the shopping center at Vista Montana, H-Mart is in its final phase of construction. The store owner says they are hoping to have the City of Torrance perform an onsite inspection this week. The store is 43,000 square feet. It will offer local, fresh produce and many specialty items.

H-Mart is an Asian-inspired supermarket that started in 1982 in New York. The company’s CEO says that H-Mart has worked to provide quality Korean food and service to communities.

The chain has stores throughout the United States, Canada and London. They currently have seven locations in California. It will be the first location in Torrance.
