Flags have been lowered to half-staff across the country to honor the victims of this past weekend’s shooting in Orlando, Fla.
The move is a mark of respect for the 49 victims who were killed in the attack that also wounded 53 others at Pulse nightclub. President Barack Obama ordered the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff at the White House and on all public buildings and grounds until sunset on Thursday, June 16.
And there has been an outpouring of emotion and support from all over the world for the victims and their families. Right here in Torrance, the South Bay LGBT Center showed their support last night.
Locals came out for a candlelight vigil for the Orlando victims and everyone affected by the attack. Holding candles and supporting one another, attendees formed a circle to show that they are united. They also wrote letters, made peaceful signs, and comforted each other.
