City officials are making sure residents are alert and informed when it comes to coyote sightings.
Nearly 18,000 door hangers have been distributed as of today. The Police Department originally distributed 6,000 hangers, and say they are continuing their education efforts to inform residents about the growing coyote problem. Recently, the Torrance City Council moved forward with an urban management coyote plan that would take different steps to inform and make locals change their behaviors. The hangers are a guide with tips to help keep locals and their pets safe. Officials are reminding people to keep their pets and any food indoors. Keep yards free from potential shelters such as thick brush and weeds. It’s also important not to leave garbage outside. Taking few preventative measures can help deter unwanted wildlife from visiting your property.
