It’s that time of year again, where local residents have the chance to see what it’s like to be a police officer.

Registration just opened for Torrance’s Partners in Policing Class. The 12-week awareness program educates community members by allowing them to “walk in the shoes of an officer.”

Participants experience hands-on exercises relating to officer duties, services and responsibilities of policing. They will get an up close look at the K-9 detail and SWAT team. You must be 18 or older to attend. Class begins Sept. 8.
