A new report released by the Torrance Police Department today shows a bigger picture of the coyote population in Torrance.
In a two-month period between May 25 and July 24 there have been 403 reports of coyote sightings and 62 animals that have been attacked or killed by coyotes.
Officials say that while no humans have been attacked to date, there are several reports of coyotes following dog walkers. Torrance Police officers plan to continue their community outreach.
While there has been a steady decrease in sightings and attacks over the past several weeks, it is still important to take necessary steps to eliminate outdoor food sources and use proper hazing techniques.
