The Torrance Police Department is looking for suspects who may have ties to multiple ATM skimming incidents.

Police have found ATM skimmer units at three Torrance 7-11 store ATMs between early June and late July. Skimmers were found at stores on 20301 Hawthorne Blvd., 18205 Prairie Avenue and 3545 Artesia Blvd.

The devices compromise credit information. Numerous victims have reported fraud on their credit cards after using these ATMs.

Skimming is a way for suspects to steal identities using hidden electronic devices to take personal information stored on your card and record your personal identification number. Victims not knowing it’s a skimmer, slide their card into the counterfeit reader, which scans and stores all the information on the magnetic strip.

If you have any information, contact the Police Department at (310) 618-5570.
