A local educational center serving children with special needs will celebrate a big milestone this weekend.

The Switzer Learning Center which celebrates its 50th anniversary this month helps 100 students annually to achieve personal and academic goals. In 1972, the center moved to Torrance and became a non-profit special education school that provides educational therapy, counseling and speech assistance to students with special needs. They also added specific programs over the years to cater to different levels of students on the autism spectrum. Organizers hope the fundraiser will help spread awareness of the goals and mission of the Center.

There will be dozens of local restaurants serving up food and drinks for the “Taste of Switzer” event. Tickets are still available. The fundraiser takes place this Saturday from 6 to 11 pm at the Switzer Learning Center. Buy Tickets…
