Hundreds of people will put on their running shoes for a large event this weekend.

This Sunday, the Los Angeles Triathlon will take place at Torrance Beach. Police officials say there will be several street closures in place that may affect your normal commute or routine.

Road closures will begin at 5 a.m. and will reopen no later than noon on triathlon day.

Portions of Paseo de la Playa south of the Riviera and up to Palos Verdes Boulevard will be closed along with Paseo de las Tortugas, Camino de Encanto and Calle de Arboles.

The event is designed to start and finish on Torrance Beach. Parking will also be impacted, locals are not allowed to park on the affected streets from midnight of Sept. 11 until noon that day.

If you have any questions, call the hotline at (310) 618-2712 or visit the L.A. Triathlon website.
