Public Works crews stayed busy today as they prepped for a big project.

On Lomita Boulevard between Hawthorne and Anza Avenue there were some traffic impacts as crews removed concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks. On Maricopa Street near Avis Avenue, crews also removed concrete to get ready for the slurry seal to be poured.

There are many steps the Public Works Department takes before they lay down the slurry seal. The program helps preserve asphalt paved roadways throughout the City.

Another project, not to be confused with the slurry seal project, was taking place today on Palos Verdes Boulevard at Via Monte d’Oro as crews removed concrete for storm drain improvements.
