The Torrance Library is looking to add a great learning tool for the community to use at their facilities.

The Friends of the Torrance Library donated funds to support adding the training service called Lynda.Com. It’s a training portal that allows people to walk through various classes at their own pace. Courses include 3D animation, CSS, and Excel.

All you need is a Torrance Library card, which will then track when you start and end a class. Officials say adding this service will greatly assist the Torrance Public Library in meeting the needs of the public in technology training, without requiring an onsite computer lab.

The cost of the service for the first year is $16,000. Tonight, City Council will accept the donation for the training service during the regularly scheduled meeting.
