The Torrance Fire Department extended their help to other fire fighters in a time of need.

Engine 92 spent the day in Ventura County yesterday, so fire fighters from the Ventura County Fire Department could attend the memorial service of fallen Fire Engineer Ryan Osler. He was killed in a roll-over crash as he was heading to fight the Canyon Fire burning along the Central Coast in late September.

More than 1,000 firefighters were said to have attended his service. Along with Torrance Fire, other county and city engines all came out to cover 32 of Ventura County’s fire stations. Several firefighters, including those from Torrance, above left, honored Osler as the procession made its way along the 101 Freeway.
