Halloween is over, and is you have bags of candy left in your home, there is a place in Torrance where you can donate your sweet treats for a great cause.

Complete Health Dentistry is one of two locations in Torrance taking part in a donation drive by collecting Halloween candy. Operation Gratitude has donation spots across the country where youngsters can drop off their mountains of candy to be shipped to troops overseas.

Many dental offices take part as an initiative to lower the risk of cavities and obesity. Operation Gratitude started collecting leftover candy in 2007, and is one of several support-the-troops organizations that send out tons of leftover candy.

Here are the two drop off locations in Torrance: Complete Health Dentistry of South Bay located at 3440 Lomita Blvd in Suite 340, and Bowman and Brooke LLP, located at 970 West 190th Street in Suite 700.

The deadline to drop off candy is Friday, Nov. 11.

Operation Gratitude sends more than 150,000 care packages filled with items for service members annually.

This year, Americans spent a record $2.7 billion on Halloween candy.
