Tonight City Council members are hoping to move forward with a renovation project at a popular Torrance park.

The Community Services Department will ask the Council to award a contract for the restructuring of the gazebo in Wilson Park, so it can be more usable for the community. Some potential ideas are for live performances and renting out the space for special occasions.

The Department plans to demolish two of the existing front columns to allow for better stage sight lines. The actual stage will be widened along with enhancing the sound and lighting.

The City also has future plans for creating free programming at the location. The project would be set for completion in April 2017.
