A local car company is bringing its newest line of green technology to Torrance.
Honda delivered the first hydrogen-powered Clarity fuel-cell vehicle to dealers in Torrance. The Clarity can be fueled in about 10 minutes and travel up to 366 miles. This is compared to the Tesla Model S P 100 D which can go about 315 miles taking at least 40 minutes to get an 80 percent charge.
The Clarity’s 174-horse power engine can propel you to a top speed of 100 miles per hour.
For now, the availability is limited to California as it is the only state with an extensive network of hydrogen filling stations. Currently there are 25 retail and five non-retail stations on California’s Hydrogen Highway which runs from San Diego up to Lake Tahoe.
