A company that helps make a popular snack food announced a large recall today.
Blommer Chocolate Company, which produces the coating on the limited edition holiday white peppermint Hostess Twinkies, says the milk ingredients in it may be contaminated with salmonella. It was found at Valley Milk Products, LLC, which produced the milk powder ingredients that went into the coating.
Consumers are asked to throw away this snack or return it to the store for a refund. Other Hostess products are not affected. This is just one recall of many other products that are also being removed from shelves because of the milk powder ingredients. The Twinkies were sold in nine-pack boxes.
