The Community Services Department is taking one more step toward construction of a large attraction at Wilson Park.

Tonight, the Community Services Department will ask the City Council to approve a concept for the splash pad project, authorize how funds will be appropriated and to start construction of the splash pad and a new park restroom.

In August of 2016, the Torrance City Council approved an agreement with an architectural firm to help design the splash pad. After developing various ideas, the team came up with a design that would include not only the splash pad with water hoops and jets, but also an active adult fitness recreation zone at the northern edge of the current pond area.
