The former Toyota campus in Torrance is officially on the market.
Real estate services firm JLL announced that the site of what used to be the Toyota Motor North America headquarters is for sale. The space is approximately 2 million square feet of office and industrial space on more than 110 acres in the cities of Torrance and Los Angeles.
Officials from the firm say they expect a lot of interest since the location is located centrally near Los Angeles International Airport and the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
Toyota announced in 2014 that it would relocate its separate North American headquarters for manufacturing, sales and marketing, financial services and corporation to Plano, Texas. The firm also said in their press release that Toyota has invested more than $5 billion in its business in California to date and nearly 2,000 team members will continue to work at other Toyota facilities throughout California once the company and its Torrance-based team members who are relocating have transitioned to Plano.
Just a few features of the campus include more than 8,000 parking spaces, 18 buildings and two hydrogen fueling stations.
