Torrance Police will be increasing their DUI enforcement this Friday.

Officers will be out in full force in an undisclosed area from 8 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday. They will have a DUI checkpoint set up in Torrance. The area is chosen based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests.

Over the past three years, Torrance Police officers have investigated 313 DUI collisions, which have resulted in six deaths.

The checkpoint focuses on looking for signs of alcohol and drug impairment.
