On tonight’s City Council meeting, 15 men and women from the Armed Forces will be honored as the newest members of the Hometown Heroes military service recognition banner program.

Family members and heroes will receive an honor as the City Council will present a souvenir photo of the banner, which are already hung on Torrance Boulevard and surrounding areas.

The Hometown Heroes program honors men and women in uniform who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, veterans who have served, or those who lost their lives in service. Military personnel are either Torrance residents or have an immediate family member. More than 100 banners have been installed.

The new banners go up in conjunction with the preparations of the City’s Armed Forces Day celebrations.

You can watch the meeting live online, on Spectrum 3 or Frontier FiOS 31 starting tonight at 7 p.m. Or attend in person at City Hall, 3031 Torrance Blvd.
