June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month and Torrance Police are teaming up with the County of Los Angeles.
Torrance Police say they want to bring attention to the critical campaign. They shared tips on things that anyone can do to prevent elder abuse.
First, learn the signs of elder abuse and neglect. Next, call or visit an elderly love one and ask how he or she is doing. Provide a break for a caregiver. Look for signs of elder financial abuse. Be aware of potential physical abuse. Volunteer to be a friendly visitor at a nursing home or to a senior in your neighborhood.
