A large park project in Torrance is nearly complete.
The Wilson Park Gazebo project will be ready for a ribbon cutting ceremony, likely in July. Crews are currently working on the columns, stage area and one of the poles to house audio and lights.
This project is a part of the City’s plan to turn the gazebo into a more usable live performance space and rental location. The stage has been widened, and there also will be a better sound and lighting system.
Once open to the community, the gazebo will be available on a rental basis for weddings, parties, performances and concerts. The project idea first came about in 2006.
Officials hope to have a ribbon cutting July 15.
