The Torrance Police Department has released street closures for the 4th of July fireworks celebration.

The City of Torrance will host its second annual fireworks show at 9 p.m. on July 4 at the Torrance Civic Center.

Street closures will start at 7 p.m. and will include:

  • Maple Avenue between Torrance Boulevard and California Street
  • Civic Center Drive between Madrona Avenue and Maple Avenue
  • Maricopa Street at Maple, Felbar, Fonthill, Kornblum, Teri, Cranbrook and Hickory avenues

The designated viewing areas include Los Angeles County Courthouse parking lot and the Toyota Sports Complex. Free tickets are available at the West Annex of City Hall.

Torrance Police Department also will be out in full force looking for people driving under the influence.

In addition, they remind the public that all fireworks are illegal in the city. Despite fireworks being sold in surrounding cities, Torrance strictly regulates the possession and use of fireworks in the city. This includes possession, storage, selling, giving and furnishing or using any fireworks in city boundaries. Torrance Police will be conducting special enforcement operation looking for anyone violating the fireworks ordinance.

A first time offense is a $100 fine and it increases for each subsequent violation.
