Jespa Awomah, a teen from Africa, who first underwent reconstructive surgeries in Torrance, is recovering from another procedure.

On the Jespa’s Journey Facebook page there were pictures shared of Jespa after he underwent a 12-hour surgery at the Huntington Memorial Hospital. Currently, he is in Intensive Care recovering and will be in the hospital for another week.

Jespa, who is now 18, underwent numerous surgeries at Torrance Memorial Medical Center over the course of a year. This was all possible thanks to the Children’s Burn Foundation, Plant A Seed and Torrance Memorial Medical Center. They made it possible for him to come to Southern California from Cameroon so he can get treatment for severe burns he experienced as a child.

Anyone wanting to help support Jespa’s treatment can make a donation at his GoFundMe page.
