It’s a sight to see as hundreds of goats graze their way across Torrance.
Today, nearly 200 of them were at the Walteria Reservoir near Crenshaw Boulevard and Rolling Hills Road. For the past 10 years, the City hires a contractor to have goats help with weed abatement and fire prevention. Also with 4th of July around the corner, they are looking to make sure weeds are removed from 10 feet behind structures.
Other locations the goats will visit include the 1000 block of Elm Avenue; Newton and Bluff streets; and Calle de Arboles.
Goats are an eco-friendly and less expensive alternative to herbicides.
The goats will work throughout the week.
