Jespa Awomah, a teen from Africa who first underwent reconstructive surgeries in Torrance, is recovering from another procedure.
Doctors at Shriners Hospitals for Children are working to help Jespa with his nose and lip. The six-month process will include six surgeries.
Close friends say that Jespa’s face is healing properly and he will require more surgeries to achieve the desired results.
Jespa came to the U.S. for treatment thanks to the partnership between Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Children’s Burn Foundation and Plant a Seed.
