The Torrance Sister City Association’s student exchange program started more than 40 years ago and continues to give students an opportunity to explore another country and its culture firsthand.

Torrance’s Sister City is Kashiwa, Japan. The three-week program gives Torrance students the opportunity to live with families in Japan, tour Japan and participate in various activities.

Torrance students are in the process of returning from their stay in Japan, which will be followed by Torrance hosting Kashiwa students for the next three weeks.

The exchange program is open to Torrance High School students who are interested in Japanese culture and who are in good academic standing.
