More people may now have high blood pressure because of new guidelines released recently.
Almost half of all Americans are now considered to be in the high blood pressure category. The American Heart Association has lowered what is considered high blood pressure, which is now 130 over 80 compared to 140 over 90. One in three American had previously been diagnosed with this condition, but now 14 percent more will be diagnosed with high blood pressure.
The new guidelines show normal as 120 over 80.
