The Annual Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, which takes place over three nights in January of every year, will take place this year on January 24th.

The City of Torrance is participating for another year and for the first time will host as a deployment site. They will be partnering with the Torrance Police Department, South Bay Coalition to End Homelessness and Family Promise of South Bay to recruit and train volunteers. The City of Torrance are currently looking for volunteers. If you can’t volunteer in Torrance, 8,000 volunteers are needed countywide.

The count is important in order for officials to quantify the homeless epidemic that affects cities while using the data to make sure resources are available to help the homeless population.
