The Los Angeles Board of Supervisors made a special honor during Tuesday’s meeting.

Los Angeles Supervisor Janice Hahn recognized the Torrance Rose Float Association for their recent participation in the 129th Tournament of Roses Parade. Hahn recognized the association for their hard work that won them the Mayor’s Award. The award is given in the float design category to the most outstanding float from a city.

This year, the City of Torrance captured the beauty of the Madrona Marsh Preserve. The City has participated in the rose parade since 1914.

The award marked the 51st trophy the city has ever received.
