The Torrance Police Department is using education to help drivers stay safe.
A recent high visibility enforcement was conducted at Pacific Coast Highway and Hawthorne Boulevard. Police found majority of the violations were caused by improper cellphone usage, failure to obey signs and unsafe speeds.
A second high visibility enforcement was conducted at Crenshaw Boulevard and Artesia Boulevard. Police found many drivers violating stop light rules. Also, citations were given to five pedestrians for jay walking.
Officials say Torrance Police will continue to partner with the community and educate them on safety.
