Covid-19-Diagnostics(1)Local hospitals are also taking steps to make sure the communities at their facilities stay safe at this time.

Today, Torrance Memorial Medical Center announced they are following the CDC’s testing criteria and will not test patients with mild symptoms, such as cough and fever. In the update, they said that in order to minimize exposure to the public, vulnerable patients and healthcare workers they are asking patients with mild symptoms to stay home and self-isolate. Currently, there are no drive-through testing options available on their campus.

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center have also made visitor restrictions stronger. They are asking patients and their families to consider communication through phone and video chat as their primary means of communication. However, if an in-person visit is necessary, patients being seen in an outpatient clinic or setting may be accompanied by no more than one adult support person. When it comes to in-person visits, they will not be allowed at this time. We reached out to Providence about testing and are waiting to hear back.
